Electronics engraved in our society

Have you ever taken a look around when you are at a crowded doctors office? What do you see? Do you see lots of people socializing? I don't think so. You probably can take a look and see 80% of people on a device such as, phones, tablets, or music devices, . Huffingtons post says,"percent of Americans sleep with their phone next to them like a stuffed animal or a blanket. It increases in percentage when you get in the teen years, it increases drastically by 30 percent," Many people dont realize how addicted they are to their phones. It is slowly becoming a bigger problem and is swarming the world. Having this addictions makes their true communication with people harder because they only know how to communicate through devices.  People in each generation has the different amounts that they use their cell phones, Jeremy Spiegel M.D. says, "College students are the heaviest users of information and communication technology and an overwhelming number of them own smart-phones and use them throughout their day—sending an average of 109.5 text messages a day, receiving just as many each day, and checking their cell phones 60 times on an average day", and this number is increasing day by day. Some time everyone should just put their phones down and talk to people, communicate without an electronic. The world as a whole would be more socialized and not as addicted to our phones.

School days being longer

Our new generation of teens are swarmed with homework, studying, and getting good grades. Having hours of homework an put stress on students. They have a full day of working at school, and have to come home and work for 3-4 hours on homework totaling out to an 11-12 hour working day. Having this through school years can cause mental stress, which is not good for mental development. American Academy of Pediatrics report tells that for children and teens, too much work and too not enough play could backfire down the road. "Colleges are seeing a generation of students who appear to be manifesting increased signs of depression, anxiety, perfectionism and stress," the report says. Altering the school schedule to overcome this could help students all over the nation. Being able to work on your school work in class could increase productivity in students. School boards should consider lengthening the school day 1 1/2 hours longer, but the teacher shouldn't give any homework. When the student returns home they wouldn't have to work for 3 more hours on school work, they would have time to get lots of sleep and relax their brains.  For elementary students, they are still kids, they still need time to play and mentally develop instead of sitting at a table with a workbook in their face. It wouldn't improve their academic ability to be stressed over it, Amanda Enayati from CNN Health + says " there is no correlation between homework and academic achievement in elementary school".
Having that break to sit and relax gives you time to remember everything you learned in that day of school. Schools should consider this possibility to change the schedule to save lots of stress from the student in the US.

Blood Diamonds

Diamonds, considered one of the worlds most beautiful gems, are prize and hold much value to people in the world. Everyone wants one, they hold essential values of love and prosperity when given to people. In some countries its a curse. It takes hard work to get them, painful work. In countries such as Sierra Leone, Liberia, Angola, and many more. In these countries citizens are put to hard labor that tests their physical ability to work long, exhausting hours. Mining these diamonds in  these countries is traumatic for the countries because it funds the wars that are happening and provides money for the warlords causing the wars. Forcing people to work for them and then have high costs on the diamonds, creating a large profit for the rebels. The diamonds are mined around the area he rebels have held, so if anyone tries to fight, they will get shot. To keep all of the workers with them they threat an them in very harsh ways. as Pervanina P. Brown from World Press writes, "To intimidate potential voters and to maintain control of the diamond mines, the rebels chopped off the hands and feet of adults, teens, children and even infants",Creating a scare factor for the workers. A significant amount of diamonds in our possession are blood diamonds, we don't realize how hard it was for people to get them. TIME Magazine says that,"65% of diamonds in the world are mined by warlords, giving the warlords and intake of $81.4 billion dollars for the war", other countries are trying to sift out what diamonds are conflict diamonds and ones that are not. They try to not fund the wars as much as possible, but it is very hard to find which is which.  These countries are highly threatened by the rebels and the mines they are forced into. The live these people are living because of the high demand for diamonds it treacherous. Next time anyone thinks of the beautiful diamond they have, think of who lived through the harsh conditions to get the beautiful diamond for them.

Mass murderers living as long as you do

Death penalty is a controversial topic throughout the United States. Many people think that the death penalty is inhumane. I wouldn't want a serial killer still to be alive for all the crimes he committed, would you? I believe that if a person is committed of a serious crime involving another person ( Homicide), if the FBI collects liable evidence that this, convicted person, did commit the crime they are accused of they should be sentenced to the death penalty.
The death penalty for a crime is made by 1 of the 5 ways. ( Lethal injection, Electrocution, Gas chamber, Hanging, and Firing squad). Lethal injection is the most common in the US because it is the most humane type of execution. Officials try to make the process as painless as possible. There is so serious long pain in any of the executions.
Wrongful death penalty is a problem in the US. By having a more in depth case on the convicts could cause the innocent to be set free and not be wronged. I think that cases should look more into other possible reasons why it could have happened before they go straight to the person they think it is. Such as Steven Avery. This man was convicted of murder. He is now sentenced for life imprisonment with no parole because the justice system believed he did it. Steven Avery knows he didn't do it, why is being convicted of it? There were other clues in his case showing it was framed and that someone could have intervened in it. This is a fine example of one large wrong person who needs to be set right. We want to have the innocent be freed and the guilty to punished.
Flamehorse says on Listverse ( 5 arguments for and against death penalty) ," In a larger sense, capital punishment is the ultimate warning against all crimes.  If the criminal knows that the justice system will not stop at putting him to death, then the system appears more draconian to him.  Hence, he is less inclined to break and enter.  He may have no intention of killing anyone in the process of robbing them, but is much more apprehensive about the possibility if he knows he will be executed.  Thus, there is a better chance that he will not break and enter in the first place." I find this to be very true, if people knew that they would be put to death they wouldn't think about killing someone because they want to live. Having the death penalty would probably bring severe crime rates drastically low. The government should look into the death penalty to keep the citizens of the US safe from harm from others.

Maternity and Paternity leaves, extend the deadline.

Men and Women create a child. 2 people make 1, it doesn't only take 1 person to have a child. If a couple is together with a child they should be able to choose when they want to have their maternity and paternity leaves. I think mothers and father should be with their child as long as they can while they are young, spending as much time as they can with them. I think mothers should have a maternity leave then after they are finished the father should some in and be with the child for 40 weeks afterwards, so the child has a total of 80 weeks with full contact with the mother and father. The father plays a large role in a child life, more fathers should get paid paternity leave. According to a 2013 report from the Society of Human Resource Management, "a mere 15 percent of employers offer paid paternity leave – this despite research underscoring the importance of a father’s involvement in his children’s life." This number should increase because it could cause children to bond more with their fathers at a young age. If the father always leaves and never spends time with the child, the child never comes in contact with him and is a mere ghost to the child, a person who just comes and goes.
Metro Parent says, “We also know that when fathers take leave during infancy, they are more likely to be involved in their children’s lives down the road.” Having this bond with the father causes the children to be more obedient, giving them a role model, this could cause less emotional/social problems as they go through their teen years. Having that 2 years to bond with your parents give the child someone to talk to and help them through their problems later in life. They have more than just 1 person they have bonded to in their life. Everyone wants a strong relationship, we want to have that with our children, we don't want a caregiver to have that bond instead of you. Parenting can be stressful for parents, it makes it easier if you can stay home with a child and not work at the same time and pay for childcare. Ashley Fraxcons says,"Us moms need our guys the first few months (err, years) of babydom. We’re healing both physically and emotionally. We’re adjusting to our new roles, our new bodies and our new schedules. Having our partner in crime around comforts and helps us more than we can say in our sleep-deprived state", because they are changing having that time to break and know that after your break is over the father will take care of the child takes lots of stress off. Today, in modern times, it can be hard to achieve this. I believe that if we take this into consideration and think about how it can help our society as a whole it can improve all the lives of our future citizens of the US.

Women should Team rope in NFR

Women and men are separated in many ways. I think that when it comes to sports there should be no separation. I think women should be able to compete with men. One thing in particular, the NFR. The NFR is the Nationals Finals Rodeo. You won't see a girl in any event except Barrel racing. Many events in the NFR such as Tie Down Roping, Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, and Bulldogging commonly known as Steer Wrestling require lots of strength. Steer Wrestling requires the rider to jump off the horse at a full run and wrestle the running cow until all 4 feet of the cow are not touching the ground. Events like this need extreme physical strength and endurance. Events such as these are man dominated events, just because of the pure strength men have over women.

Team roping on the other hand only requires 2 riders to rope the cow on the horns and on the 2 hind feet. This event requires much less physical ability. Women are allowed to do this event in Junior rodeos and lower class rodeos but not the pros. I think this is something that should be changed. "Roping isn't a boys sport anyone can do it" says Amy Donaldson from Dessert News. If women can compete at a lower level and do well, why shouldn't they be able to compete in the pros if you get all the points to be able to go to the NFR. Practice makes perfect and anyone can practice, any gender. "Quality practice means going out in the right frame of mind'', says Lara Dee Guy from APHA. Anyone can have dedication do something as long as you have a drive to succeed. I have been practicing roping for a few months and i can easily do it and i get a little flustered when i hear women aren't allowed to reach as far as they can go like men can in rodeo. Hopefully in the future people will come together and try to fix this problem. Both men and women should be able to reach there full potentials in anything, including sports.

Why FFA is not "Lame AF" as peta2 thinks

FFA is the largest youth organization in the US. It is a very good organization with lots of strong suits. Some organizations do not agree with that statement, I am here to inform you of how FFA is a very good youth organization.
Peta2 is not a fan of FFA they only pick out the negative parts they want to see of us in our animal raising. They believe, "FFA holds contests in which members try to identify what body part a piece of flesh came from (like some sick murder mystery game)", states peta2 in the blog " FFA is lame AF", they don't see the positive parts of it. They are taking a negative swing on the contest of meat judging. This contest was made to help the members better their skills in meat selection, because most of the world eats meat and they want to choose the right meat to feed the world. FFA isn't only about meat, it is about leadership. This is a organization that puts out strong people out into the work world. The contests, the preparation, the teamwork, all of these make stronger people. Not all of our members go in to animal sciences, but FFA still puts out strong youth out and into the working class.
Kamiakin FFA 2016 Officers

In 1928, FFA was created to educate youth who were bound to feed the nation. Lots of time has passed since then, now it is 2016. FFA has molded and shaped like a piece of clay, moving and changing by the hands of 1, the advisors of all the FFA chapters. These people have changed FFA into more of a leadership organization rather than a farmer based organization. Peta2 doesn't see that strong leadership component the advisors created. The people we send out help them in there work force as well, they are just blind to that, possibly wanting to be blind to it. They wouldn't want to hear that FFA has effected their lives so much because they just see FFA as animal killers, nothing more. We need organizations like FFA in our world, one that shapes the minds of young youth. Why would Peta2 want to tear down something so good for our world?  “FFA is valuable to students whether or not they ever set foot in a farm field,” says Julie Adams, Team Leader, Marketing and Communications, You can't ever take the skills these kids learned throughout the 4 years they were in this program. We want to keep FFA striving and make it more known as leadership rather than seen as animal killers.
